At our school, we pay special attention to our collaboration with the National Library of Serbia, through whose regular guest visits we introduce pupils to important topics from culture, history and art.
As part of one such visit, the pupils had the opportunity to attend an inspiring lecture by Slađana Ilić about notable Serbian women. Through the stories of the heroines of the Balkan Wars and the First World War, they learned about their courage, self-sacrifice and strength, as well as an important part of our history that often remains in the shadows.
The lecture took place in an exceptionally positive atmosphere, with great interest from the pupils, and the life stories of the women who left an indelible mark through their deeds made a particular impression. At the end of the session, a quiz was also organised, through which the pupils tested and consolidated their newly acquired knowledge in an interesting and dynamic way.
Such guest visits contribute to the development of a love of learning, encourage curiosity and foster respect for cultural and historical heritage.
