The educational program of the Private Primary School “Mihajlo Pupin” is based on the national curriculum and syllabus, which represents a solid foundation for students’ academic and personal development. The national program in our school is not seen as a minimum requirement to be met, but as a foundation that is deepened, systematically developed, and connected with broader educational goals.

We believe that at an early age a child should develop a clear understanding of themselves, their language, culture, and the value framework they come from. Knowledge without identity is fragile, and education without rootedness easily loses direction. That is why the national program at “Mihajlo Pupin” plays a key role in forming a stable personality and intellectual confidence in students.

Language, Culture, Identity, Development of Thinking and Academic Skills

Special emphasis is placed on the Serbian language, literature, history, and geography. Through these subjects, students develop the ability for clear thinking, expression, and understanding of the world around them. The mother tongue is not only a means of communication, but a foundation of identity and thought.

Students learn to understand their own cultural heritage, values, and historical continuity, not as a closed system, but as a starting point for an open and self-aware relationship with the world. In this way, children develop confidence in their own identity, without fear of diversity.

The national program at the Private Primary School “Mihajlo Pupin” is implemented in an extended scope, where mathematics, natural sciences, and logical thinking are also not neglected. The goal is not mere acquisition of knowledge, but the development of the ability to think, conclude, and solve problems.

In our school, students have as many as five English lessons per week, while Spanish is available as a second foreign language subject.

When it comes to English language teaching, we have chosen the Scandinavian approach of daily exposure to English, which is also the first foreign language in the National Program. In working with children, our teachers use and combine the best methodological approaches, primarily the communicative method and the natural method. The communicative method implies constant communication in English, while the natural method implies extensive exposure to the language.

In addition to the increased number of classes, each student during the school year also has a certain number of individual lessons, where, as needed, they can prepare for competitions, receive additional support with challenging material, or make up for material they missed due to justified absence from classes. All our teachers have a good command of English, so interdisciplinary projects are very often implemented, through which children research and present in English, thereby further gaining confidence and gradually becoming more and more ready to speak English spontaneously and without thinking.

Work in small classes enables an individual approach, monitoring of progress, and timely support for each student. Knowledge is built gradually, with clear criteria and high expectations, adapted to the child’s age.

Enrollment at the “Mihajlo Pupin” school begins with a meeting with the parents, an introduction to the child, and a trial stay at the school. The admissions process is selective and based on an assessment of how well the values of the family align with those of the school.
