At our school, the care for a Year 6 child doesn’t end at 1:30 p.m.!
We continue to offer a full-day programme where children can complete their homework and get extra help at school, staying in a familiar and safe environment, which certainly reduces any potential feeling of disorientation.
Fewer pupils per class — better connections!
New subjects and their teachers are more easily introduced in classes of fifteen pupils, and the pupils themselves also interact more spontaneously with one another.
A Form Tutor is always there!
For form tutors in the upper years of primary school, we select teachers whose subjects are taught for a greater number of lessons, so that this teacher is present in every pupil’s school life in every way.
An individual learning plan for each pupil — reduces the fear of the new!
Individual plans, and often even personalised exercises, give subject teachers more room to introduce new material more appropriately, thereby reducing the tension of the transition from class-based to subject-based teaching.
Parents have been and remain our valuable partners!
This constant and honest communication continues into Year 5. The subject teachers, and above all the class teacher, continue to communicate with parents in the same way as the teachers did previously.
Learning techniques are a sure path to independent learning!
At our school, we introduce pupils to learning techniques throughout Year 5, while all newly enrolled pupils undergo the same training in the first few months of the year, thereby permanently taking their learning capabilities to the next level!
